Infrastructure Engineer

To provide the necessary strategy, architecture and standards for infrastructure build and documentation.
To support the development and design of the physical network infrastructure and its expansion. Assist in the design and issue detailed design documentation for all changes to the Interoute metro and backbone fibre networks.
Work with sales support for the design and development of customer fibre networks and issue detailed designs as required.

• Support detailed fibre designs on core and metro Network.
• Reserve and allocate resources on an inventory database
• Audit contents of Inventory as required.
• Support detailed response to “Customer design Documents” for infrastructure capturing costs and risks.
• Work in conjunction with sales Engineering to produce Detailed Design Documents for the delivery of services.
• Ensure that any design changes meet the Interoute standards and are correctly recorded.
• Work with the capacity Manager to ensure that all fibre requirements are correctly forecasted. Discuss and produce design requirements necessary to meet capacity forecasts.
• Approve test results for new fibre acquisitions or network changes.
• Produce documentation covering processes and procedures as required.
• Develop and detail design rules and standards pertaining to fibre and infrastructure.
• Manage design of duct, fibre, ODF and DDF to ensure effective and efficient network operation.
• Create, manage and update documentation.
• Manage deployment projects with suppliers ensuring lead times are meet and costs controlled.

Previous experience in Telecommunication Industry in a relevant discipline such as Optical Transmission Network Support, Design, Build or Planning. Experience on the design or planning of external fibre networks would be particularly advantageous.
Fully computer literate
Knowledge Visio, Excel; GIS systems, Cramer and Siebel an advantage.
Good command of English.
