Network & Data Centre Infrastructure Engineer

The Role:

The role is essentially has 2 key functions related to supporting Interoutes regional engineering and operations activity
• Day to day support of maintenance and implemnetation of core Data Cnetre infrastructure including server build , Operating System Load and local support for Central Hostign Engineering and Implemnetation teams.
• Day to day support of maintenance and implemnetation of Networking technologies including ADM / IP Core device and hands and local support for central Network Engineering and Implementation teams .

Responsible for the management of the day to day operations of customer setups.
Including:

• To be technical on site support for 2nd and 3rd line Hosting and Network functions within Interoute.
• Deliver first line field operations support for Network and Data Centre teams and ensure availability for out of hours planned works activity .
• Manage suppliers responsible for installation and routine maintenance of Network facilities across the teritory.
• Install and patch new server systems as required during build or maintenance phase for key customers.
• Take ownership, document and maintain the Datacentre and PoP locations in the Nordic area according to standard.
• Be rosponsible for handling preventive maintenance tasks in the Datacentre including routine power failover and Disaster recovery testing.
• Perform test and turn up of Interoute Hosting and Network services for Internal platform customer and external customers..
• Maintain the ISO 27001 standard.
• Provide on call duties.

Experience Required:
General technical knowledge with strong tendencies for Datacentre and network infrastructure.
Communication with external and internal customers about implementations / issues.
Work in projects related to Datacentre and network expansion.
Out of hours on call support on a rotational basis

Technical Experience and knowledge required:
• 3 years experience of telecom or Hosting environment.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Understanding of hardware used in Datacentre environment.
• Basic understanding of Datacentre infrastructure such as cooling, power and cabling.
• Basic understanding of Telecom network elements
