Oracle Pre Sales Database Administrator

We have a requirement for an Oracle presales database administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will possess strong Oracle database administration skills and will have proven experience of database administration in a production environment. The role is ideal for an experienced DBA who is looking to move into a more customer facing commercial role.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Required to assist with production and presentation of proposals
• Required to liaise with all aspects of project delivery including technical, sales and service delivery
• Architect and verbalise Oracle database technical solutions to clients and colleagues.
• Deliver technical solutions as part of the managed service support team when required.

Essential Technical Requirements:
• Proven experience of administering Oracle databases in a 24x7 environment (Production).
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Demonstrable ability for Installation, tuning and administration of Oracle RAC databases (9i, 10g, 11g).
• Knowledge of RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Pump, OEM and Data Guard.
• A theoretical knowledge of Exadata.

Desirable Technical Requirements:
• Linux experience preferably Oracle Enterprise Linux.
• Shell scripting
• Oracle application server or Weblogic knowledge

The successful candidate will be a self motivated proactive individual who is equally comfortable in working individually or as part of a wider team. There will be a requirement to communicate to customers directly, it is therefore essential that the successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer facing skills
and proven ability to communicate with senior decision makers (technical and commercial)
