Team Description & Purpose of Role
Interoute is widely regarded as one of the most innovative ICT service providers in Europe. Interoute’s strategy of Unified ICT offers a converged service combining Connectivity, Communication and Computing.
Interoute recently announced the Interoute CloudStore initiative, a revolutionary way of allowing enterprise customers to build out sophisticated cloud communication, computing and storage infrastructure as part of their existing WAN outsourcing with Interoute. The CloudStore is an online environment that allows customers to take control of their ICT infrastructure eliminating the physical delays, costs and overheads normally associated with IT infrastructure projects. At the heart of the CloudStore is the Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC), Interoute Infrastructure as a service (IAAS) platform. Using the VDC as a platform Interoute is developing complementary products and bundles of services (solutions) that are sold through the CloudStore allowing customers to quickly create complex environments from services like managed Oracle database services, hosted communication platforms etc. The creation of these Appliances and certifying third party developments is a core element of the CloudStore development.
Job Responsibilties
The role involves managing a team of developers focused on the development, testing and support of new appliances prior to them being sold through the CloudStore. The team is also required to act as a pre sales function helping customer with queries, offering advice and resolving disputes between customer mis-configuration and genuine platform performance issues. The appliances will cover a breadth of technologies so a good broad understanding of technology and applying it is essential. Typical areas will be security, communication, network management, and application categories e.g. Microsoft suite, Storage and distribution applications, OS’s. The successful candidate would be expected to create the team with a mix of key technology leads but focused on building a team based on effective graduate recruitment.
The candidate would also be expected with support from London, to manage and help define the process by which appliances are chosen, developed and launched.
Experience Required
• At least 5 years experience in a multi-discipline managed services environment, managing a development process.
• Experience and a track record in building and managing successful teams
Person Specification
• The successful individual will have a good technical understanding of a broad range of technologies and have the confidence and experience to be able guide and advise across new technology areas.
• They will be excited by the opportunity to participate in the creation of a new way of delivering ICT services.
• They will be a good communicator with good grasp of English both spoken and written. They will be comfortable presenting and communicating to a broad range of audiences.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
