Hosting Architect - Security

Team Description & Purpose of Role

The Hosting Architecture group is responsible for the technical research, development, documentation and release to Operations of the Managed Hosting service platform

Job Responsibilties

• Design, Development and life-cycle management of new hosting security products
• Some re-development of existing hosting security products
• Design and delivery of new Data Centre IP infrastructure (anticipated to be a two year programme)
• Development and documentation of IP systems to be used within the Data Centres
• Ownership of all standard security products’ policies and procedures
• Development and documentation of management systems used within the Security Operations Centre
• Periodic security reviews of Data Centre infrastructure with the Security Steering Group

Experience Required

Demonstrable and recent experience working in the hosting industry, with a specific focus on security: 
Checkpoint Firewalls 
Cisco ASA 
Bluecoat 
OS hardening (Windows 2k3+, Linux and Solaris) 
IDS/IPS 
Penetration Testing 
SSL & IPSec VPN 
Network security including Layer 2 security. 
Recent experience of designing and developing multi-vendor, multi-tier hosting solutions 
Knowledge of virtual platforms and their implications on security 
Knowledge of security standards including PCI DSS and ISO27001

Person Specification

• You are an excellent communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
• You are able to work to tight timescales, either alone or as a member of a larger team
• You are a responsible individual with a desire to take ownership of a problem and see it through to resolution
• Engineering/Mathematical Science degree qualified
